Support WISCA's ongoing commitment to promoting Acupuncture and protecting our scope of practice. Contributions to the Legislative Fund are needed to ensure consistent action by our lobbyist. WISCA is a 501(c) (6), a tax-exempt “business league" making WISCA eligible to perform activities related to lobbying and advocacy. We are not a 501(c)(3), which is the designation for charitable organizations, so contributions to WISCA are not deductible for the donor as charitable donations.

    Gua sha is a remarkable healing modality that has been
    used for hundreds of years
    . In this class, students will learn about the history
    and application of gua sha for a variety of conditions relating to pain, limited range of motion, impaired circulation, and inflammation

    Case studies will be used to illustrate the progression of healing relative to symptomatic relief, tongue and pulse changes, and improvements in mood and emotional outlook. Students will receive hands-on instruction and feedback on technique. Safety and proper hygiene protocols will also be discussed. 

    Learn how to use this amazing tool for immediate clinical application, and experience the results for yourself. Your patients will thank you

    Instructors: Sandy Camper, L.Ac. earned her Master of Acupuncture degree from Traditional Acupuncture Institute (now Maryland University of Integrative Health) in 1995, and has studied gua sha directly with Arya Nielsen, Ph.D. Sandy served on the faculty of the Traditional Acupuncture Institute as an associate faculty, designing and teaching courses in Chinese medical theory. In her private practice in upstate New York, gua sha plays a primary role in helping patients with a variety of health challenges.

    Kathryn Nemirovsky, L.Ac. earned master’s degrees in acupuncture and Oriental medicine from the New York College of Health Professions. With training in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five-Element theory, Kathryn uses a full range of modalities in her private practice in Crofton, MD. She uses gua sha every day to help patients with acute and chronic and pain, and is excited to share her experience with this amazing healing modality.
